STEP@LSU was founded in the Fall of 2023 with one main goal: improve our community with
the help of service dogs. Our organization aims to educate LSU’s student body about the life
changing assistance service dogs provide, both through teaching our members and equipping
them to educate our community. We are partnered with Canine
Companions, a non-profit which provides service dogs to those in need, free of charge. Selected
student raisers have the opportunity to raise and train future service dogs, and this mission is
made possible by our
members who are involved in training, fundraising, and education through our
organization.
