STUDIES DEPARTMENTS 30TH
ANNIVERSARY
In October, the African and African American
Studies (AAAS) Department celebrated “30 years of
Transcendence.” There were performances from
the LSU Gospel Choir, talks on transcendence, and
Oscar Winning Costume Designer Ruth E.
Carter gave the keynote address. Carter and 5
other important 昀椀gues to the department received
the Champion of
Transcendence Award. The night was wonderful, full
of happiness, memories, and hope for the future.
